Junior High School
Welcome to Redding Christian Junior High School where 7th & 8th grade students thrive!
We view Junior High as a milestone in a student's life. The days of elementary school are behind them and they are actively preparing for high school. Our desire is that students at this level grow in important areas of freedom, responsibility and in their walk with Christ.
Junior High also marks an important opportunity to make a change. Chances are, students and parents are both ready for that change. It might feel a little scary at first, but soon you will build your confidence and settle right in! Teachers and administration work hard to help make this happen.
In August the entire Junior High heads for the mountains and an overnight Spiritual Emphasis Retreat. The retreat allows time for serious conversations, bonding with one another and worship. This is the age where kids are making a choice for Christ for themselves. Spiritual Emphasis Retreat provides an amazing opportunity for the Junior High students to commit or recommit their lives to Christ.
Throughout the year every opportunity for discipleship is taken. Weekly chapels, Bible class and one on one mentoring are regularly found on campus.
Redding Christian Junior High students stand out from the crowd. They are the kind of kids you hope your child becomes friends with. The school culture embraces mutual respect and acceptance of others. When incidents come up we believe in restorative action. We stand for justice, but love is always at the core of our conversations with students.

Opportunities to participate in athletics, music and drama are open to all students regardless of ability. This gives students a chance to discover their gifts and talents and lines up with our goal of preparing these students for high school.
Academics are designed to challenge the student but consideration is given to the whole child. We believe that while students should be expected to succeed academically, they also need to have time for family and church activities. This means that on Wednesday's when students typically attend church youth groups, the homework load is lighter. Time is giving during the school day to complete homework so that students will still have time for family.
Junior High is an exciting time and one that both students and parents will enjoy. Memories and friends that are made during these years will remain for a lifetime.
