Redding Christian High School opened in August, 2002. RCHS is the result of committed Christians who believe in Christ-centered education and in the capacity of young people to make a difference in a world ardently competing for their hearts and minds.

As we enter our ninth school year, we are excited to announce that our enrollment has increased, enabling our outreach to families in our community to be expanded. We believe that this is due to our consistent focus on discipleship and our strong academic and athletic programs. RCHS is committed to educating, training, and equipping students who will make an impact on this world for Jesus Christ. Our desire is that each student walk in the Holy Spirit and learn to walk in God's kingdom principles here on earth.

RCHS students are challenged daily to perform to their highest scholastic potential, to consider how academic subjects align with a Christian worldview, and to discover, through God's Word, the strength and blessings of a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ. You can see these values being lived every day by our high school students.

The students truly see themselves as family. They support each other in good and bad times. When walking past a group of students sitting together, it is not uncommon to hear a student offer to pray with another student. These are young people you would choose as friends or mentors for your children and would be happy to hire as your employees.

The Bible is the core of the RCHS curriculum. Students experience an integration of faith and learning that places God's Word at the center of all school activities. A two and a half day Spiritual Emphasis Retreat occurs in September allowing time for students to bond and grow spiritually. Team building games mix all grades with the goal of bringing the entire student body together as a unit. We encourage our seniors to act as role models for our younger students and this is where it begins.

Chapels, Bible class and small groups are essential parts of the Bible curriculum. Bible classes are focused on equipping students to live out their faith and on fostering a biblical world view.

  • Freshmen - Old Testament History
  • Sophomores - New Testament Literature
  • Juniors - Financial Peace University (Dave Ramsey)
  • Seniors - The Truth Project (Family Life/Relationships)

Teachers are well-trained, caring Christians who desire to minister to students through their teaching and through involvement in the students' lives. This is evident when a teacher gives a student his cell phone number and is available for help on homework or to talk through a problem the student is experiencing. The personal involvement of RCHS teachers is revealed as they participate in activities beyond the school environment, hold study groups at Barnes & Noble or meet with groups of students off campus for breakfast.
The RCHS educational program endeavors to educate the whole student through rigorous academics, physical education and athletic competition, community service, and a specific emphasis on Christian character formation and spiritual development. When students graduate, they will be prepared for college ‑ more importantly they will be prepared to live out their faith as young adults.

Chapel

Chapels are held weekly for the spiritual enrichment of the student body and incorporate worship, recognition of students receiving awards and a special speaker program. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend chapels.

Senior Trip Information

Senior Trip

Redding Christian High School students have the option to participate in a group trip near the end of their senior year. The trip is designed to provide high school seniors with a culminating group experience that incorporates a mixture of Christian service, cross-cultural interaction, and appropriate recreational activities. The trip takes place just prior to graduation and serves as a capstone event to help commission seniors as they move into young adulthood after high school.

Discipleship

Students are encouraged to deepen their faith and walk with Christ and are involved in an on-going discipleship program that permeates every aspect of school life. These small groups meet regularly with a teacher who is committed to encouraging spiritual growth in each student.

Adventure Club

Adventuring provides positive experiences to help young people mature and prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.
What a Venturing crew does is limited only by the imagination and involvement of the adult and youth members - sailing, climbing a mountain, scuba diving, rock climbing, backpacking, caving, etc. are all possibilities for our Adventure Club. Adventuring is an emphasis on high adventure that helps provide team-building opportunities, new meaningful experiences, practical leadership application, and lifelong memories for young adults

Honors Society

Sophomore - Seniors are eligible for the National Honors Society. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and above. Membership is based on leadership, community service and scholarship.
