Annual Fund
Redding Christian School is at an exciting time in our history. After 20 years of excelling in academics and discipleship we find ourselves on a beautiful 40 acre campus. We have taken several steps of faith this year to hire new staff and teachers to improve our programs. We feel more prepared than ever to fulfill our mission.
But we need your help.
In 2009, the State of California determined that the average cost of educating a child was $8,736. Because we desire to keep our tuition affordable, and at the same time offer an outstanding Christian education, our tuition is currently between $3465 and $4345 - depending on the grade level of the child. As you can easily see, tuition alone does not cover 100% of the cost of educating students at Redding Christian School.
How do we fill the gap between the actual cost of an excellent Christian education and what is paid in tuition?
We are glad you asked! The gap is filled through our Annual Fund, which consists of fundraising programs, special events and regular financial contributions from the Redding Christian 'family' - our current parents, alumni, grandparents, staff, board and friends of RCS.
Whether it is spending your time to volunteer at our events, participating in one of our many programs, or giving anything from a few dollars to a few thousand dollars- every effort makes a difference.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 for the 2010/2011 school year to be used for scholarships and technology. Additionally, we have a challenge goal for another $50,000 to complete the funding for our new gym floor.
Each gift - no matter what its size will be an important part of our Annual Fund Campaign and will contribute to this year’s goal. Your gift to the Annual Fund could make an eternal difference in the life of a young person.
In 2010/2011 we will use the Annual Fund to:
Enrich our educational technology
To keep our students competitive we must provide the necessary
technology. Powerful computers are needed for graphic arts classes. New
staff require computers. Three teachers will begin using Classroom
Clickers this year. An interactive white board for science and math
would enrich curriculum in science and math.
Provide tuition assistance for new and current families experiencing financial need.
Every year there are students who are simply unable to afford the wonderful educational provided by RCS. A tough economic climate makes this an even greater need. We would like nothing more than to offer these kids a helping hand and a true opportunity to experience Christ in a new way. The scholarship fund would allow new students for whom a Christian education seems like an impossible dream to attend Redding Christian School.
Install a new gym floor.
The Redding Christian School’s gymnasium is so much more than an athletic center. It is a classroom where physical education is taught across 12 grades. It is our worship center during chapel and our fine arts center during plays and performances. It is where we gather as families to fellowship with each other. As we work toward our goal of replacing the floor, it is with this usage in mind. We have a great beginning of $23,000 to start the process toward completion.
